Helt unik!! Tyst och lugn och samtidigt ljudlig och så full av liv. Så mycket olika typer av människor att huhuh. Vi håka t.ex. att:
- Tokyoanerna sovar var som helst, när som helst. Alla sov på tåget/metron och på gatorna kunde man se folk som somnat på en parkbänk mitt i sitt textande(då telefonen fallit på gatan)
- Kriminaliteten är låg då folk kan somna, tappa telefonen och ingen har stulit den...
- Att äta/dricka medan man går på gatan ses som fel. Så ska man äta eller dricka så ska man göra de på ett cafe..take-away kaffe funkkar int riktigt
- kinkkiga är dom, på många sätt och vis...t.ex. vårt hotellrum had ett massivt fönster mellan sängen och vessan och där var ingen gardin...så sku man gå på toan fick den andra glatt se på (eller hellre vända ryggen till..) :)
- Spelhallarna där är från helvete...ljudnivån inne på deras spelhallar är helt sjuk...man blev helt snurrig efter 2 minuter och där sitter dom och spelar något som heter Pachinko..ni kan kolla denna länk för att förstå vad jag menar.
- man ska heller int gärna tala i telefonen då man är i metron/tåget
- ingen tutar i trafiken. Här i aussina är det vardag att hornet går på bilarna men i Tokyo (som ändå är en miljon stad) så var det tyst som bara den..
- dom älskar crepes, fyllda crepes, choklad-, ostkaks-,jordgubb-fyllda crepes, you name it.
Och en massa mer skulle de säkert ha funnits att lära sig om detta folk. Men tiden tog slut. Vi hann dock gå på fiskmarknaden vilket vi väntat på. Vi sku försöka slippa med och se på tonnfisk auktionen, men vi hann int i tid till kön och slapp int med. Vi var där 4:20 på morgonen men de var redan för sent... de pärtta ganska mycket.
Men marknaden var i sig jätte intressant och vi gick sen och åt färsk färsk sushi på ett av de små restaurangerna som finns på marknadsområdet. Restaurangerna där är små och rymmer kanske en 10 pers på en gång och så lagar sushimestaren färska bitar åt en, en åt gången. Vissa av restaurangerna hade en 4timmars kö...4 timmars kö klockan 6 på morgonen...fundera på de...
Men Tokyo var alltså helt super!! Dit vill jag nog pånytt :)
Sayonara så länge!
We spent last weekend in Tokyo!! G was there for work the whole week and I flew after him on Thursday and we then got to spend Friday to Sunday in Tokyo before returning home. Have never been there and haven't really had it on my "must see"list (not topping my vacation location list at the moment), but decided to take the chance while we had it. And man was it worth it!! :D
An absolutely unique place to visit!! So quiet and calm and loud and full of life at the same time. So many different type of people and things that you were just amazed all the time.
We noticed for example the following things:
- People in Tokyo can fall asleep anywhere and anytime. Everyone was falling asleep on the train/metro and the more funny thing was people sleeping on the street, on park benches or on the curb. Some even falling asleep in the middle of texting :D
- Crime rate seems to be quite low and in general the place felt safe. For example, the dude who fell asleep and dropped his phone on the street, no one had stolen the phone and I think he had been there for a while..
- To eat or drink while you are walking on the street was not acceptable. So the take away coffee culture doesn't really work there (even if they did have Starbucks). But if you saw someone eat or drink while walking the streets of Tokyo, you could put your money on that it was a tourist :D
- They are a bit kinky... in so many ways.. Exampler: our hotel room had a massive window between the bed and the toilet...but no curtain...so if you went on the loo your partner could either turn his back to you or watch... weird.
- The game halls there are crazy!!! So loud that you go insane after a few minutes...and there is people there sitting and playing for hours...they play a game called Pachinko, watch it on youtube to get my point :)
- You should also not talk on your phone and disturb other people while on the train/metro.
- No one honks their horn in traffic...and this is a BIG city we are talking about..but so quiet.. they are just too kind to be honking their horns to other people
- They love crepes. Filled crepes. Chocolate filled, cheesecake filled, strawberry and cream filled crepes.. You name it
And there would probably be so many other things that could be found out about this great nation! But we ran out of time. We did however have time to visit the fish market of Tokyo which is a highlight! Tsukiji fish market. We wanted to make the 120 persons that get to witness the tuna auctions, but we didn't make the cut. When we arrived there at 4:20 in the morning they had already had such long lines that by 4:00 am they had chosen the first 120 and sent the rest home...very disappointing :(
But the market was still fun and we did have the freshest of fresh sushi at one of the small restaurants at the market.The restaurants can take about 10 people at the time and the chefs then prepare fresh sushi for you. You are supposed to eat quick and then leave so that the next people can get in. Some of the most popular restaurants had queues that could take you 4 hours!!! 4 hours!!! and this is at 6 am in the morning!!! Crazy!
But all in all Tokyo was great!! :) want to go back for sure!!
